Diving

Minimum Age Limit 25 years.
Age Determining Date Competitor’s age as of December 31st, 2014.
Age Groups For springboard and platform events:
25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89 and 90-94 and five year age groups as long as necessary.
For synchronised diving:
25-99 and 100+ with Age Groups decided by adding the ages of the two divers
Format Competitors can freely choose their dives from the table in FINA Diving Rules, providing each dive to be performed has a different dive number. The diver can freely choose the dives from the dive table given in the FINA Handbook. The only requirement is that in age groups 25 – 69 years, each dive performed has different dive number (as to FINA Handbook). In age groups 70 and older dives with the same dive number can be repeated, if performed in a different position (straight, pike, tuck or free position).
If in any of the two groups in Synchronised Diving the age of a diver is 50 years or more,the limitation from 10 m platform dives of only feet first and any dive from 10 m must not exceed degree of difficulty 2.0 applies for the pair.
Events will run simultaneously
Medals Medals will be awarded from 1st to 6th place in each age group. Only the first three medals will be awarded if there are less than six competitors.
Practice and Warm up Practice opportunities will be available on Sunday, August 3rd and Monday, August 4th 2014. Practice opportunities will also be available on competition days. Details of practice times will be found on the website once registration closes. All practice times will be open, but restrictions on how to use 3m, 5m, 7,5m and 10m Platforms in combination with 3m and 1m Springboards will apply. Instructions will be given at the technical meeting.
Technical Meeting A technical meeting will be held on Monday, August 4th 2014, at 3:00 PM at the Parc Jean-Drapeau Aquatic Complex.
Detailed Schedule Tuesday, August 5th to Friday, August 8th 2014, starting at 9:00 AM (practice from 8:00 AM) every day continuing with synchronized diving on Saturday, August 9th, starting at 11:00 AM (practice from 10:00 AM).
The competition schedule will be provided on our website prior to the championships once registration closes.
This will also be provided to competitors at the Information Center at Parc Jean-Drapeau Aquatic Complex.
Dive Sheet Practise An official diving form will be sent to all competitors by e-mail after the championships registration is closed. Official diving forms must be submitted by e-mail to the Organizing Committee before Tuesday 1st July 2014. The competitors shall confirm their participation and submit the final changes to their official diving form at the designated point on competition site 24 hours prior to the start of the event. Additional copies will also be available at the Information Center at Parc Jean-Drapeau.
Late sheets and changes to an existing sheet will incur a penalty fee of 10 USD or 15 CAD per sheet between 24 hours and three (3) hours prior to the event.
No changes or diving forms will be accepted after the deadline of 3 hours before the start of the event.
